This morning we traveled across the city to speak with one of the most famous living women authors in Chile, Diamela Eltit. Her home was gorgeous and old and full of life.
This afternoon we talked to two current students at the Biblioteca Feminista, Solange and Maria de los Angeles who are studying history pedagogy at the Universidad Academia de Humanismo Cristiano. The students had to fight for this library — it was part of their feminist demands of their University. The library is dedicated to the Haitian woman, Joanne Florvil, who was beaten to death by the Carabiñeros (Chilean Police) in 2017.
